Mariama Dibba is a mother of three, two girls one boy. She suffers from hearing and speech problems. Her husband and two of her children are also hearing impaired. Mariama is now unemployed. Before she assisted a family member at the market in her town with selling goods like household items and cooking ingredients. We came in contact with Mariama through another foundation. At our first meeting she already came up with a businessplan: a shop at the market. She already had experience selling products at the market. Small Steps 2 Success contacted the national assembly. He at once referred us to the area council chairman. He was happy that a foundation like this exits in the Gambia. The council chairman also did his best with the market manager and finally we could secure a shop in the market. The foundation took care of the renovation of the shop and paid necessary payment as required. Mariama was excited and finally she could start in March.
